Final debate

Assuming there is no October Surprise in the horizon, a good debate tomorrow can pretty much make the final few weeks smooth. If Romney has a major league gaffe, things will be amazing. Should Obama screw up- we will pop the Rolaids. What do you think are the do/do nots for Obama Monday night- if you were to give advice?

I am not sure why both Obama and Romney agreed to a foreign policy only debate. I see a lot less viewers for this debate because of that. It is not a subject most people will vote on and one that affects them directly. I don't see this debate shifting things either way. The 2nd debate was so much more crucial for Obama to do well. If I could give President Obama advice it would be to be as strong as he was in the 2nd debate and not back down on Romney's lies. I think he will do fine.

though I agree that most viewers probably won't be as keen on it as they might on more domestic topics. I agree with your general advice however. President O. should be very well prepared and ready for any and all of Robme's shit. And he certainly does need to go on the offensive against Romney (or "Robme," if you prefer). Any show of weakness would not play well. As we saw in the first debate, the professorial lecture style that President O. likes and is trained for is not appropriate for these debates. After all, we're dealing with Republicans here; not intellectuals. Further, I think it's clear that President O. himself now appreciates that fact given his stellar performance in the second presidential debate. I have every confidence in his doing a similarly great job in this upcoming final debate.

I am a political wonk, but I vote mainly on domestic affairs. This will be not as exciting to me, but I'm sure it will get viewers. I agree to keep up his energy on the second debate..

My advice

1- Keep cool! Allow Mitt to look like an over the top, out of control maniac.

2- DO MENTION BIN LADEN!!!! DO NOT LEAVE THE DEBATE WITHOUT REMINDING AMERICA MITT DIDN'T HAVE A CONCERN ABOUT CAPTURING HIM!!! MENTION FACTS!!!

3- The format will be similar to the first debate so maintain control. Do not let him take over!

4- Continue correcting him! "That is dead wrong" "According to a speech you gave in 2009.." Make sure he answers.

5- Like the previous debate, school him. "Governor, with all due respect, that is not how the Commander in Chief can act.."

6- BRAG- Bin laden, Kadaffi, Pirates- DEAD! TAKE CREDIT!

I'm not sure how much of this is applicable for tomorrow's debate, but in general you need to do the following when arguing or debating with a Republican:

Don't allow lie stacking. Respond to each lie. You may have to interrupt if the Republican is on a typical ten-lie stack.

Don't allow false equivalence. If Romney pulls out that crap about "trickle-down GOVERNMENT," explain that the only trickle-down is trickle-down ECONOMICS, and explain its 100% failure rate. Then ask if Romney is trying to bring down the country by calling for a stronger dose of it.

Also, all Republicans, on orders from the propagandists at GOP headquarters, have been calling the Democratic Party the "DEMOCRAT Party." Romney did it at the last debate. Ask Romney if he takes orders from the same place as Rush Limbaugh, and ask how he would like conservatives to be called "cons."
