2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSanders did fine with Latinos in Nevada, Colorado and Illinois.
He did poorly with Latinos in Texas, Florida, and Arizona.
Team Clinton's lies and distortions are still hurting him with Latinos, but he has shown that he can compete for Latino votes.
Viva la revolucion!

(24,411 posts)There are many Latinos in rural Iowa and also in the Des Moines area.
I spoke with a LULAC leader in Iowa, who is also a Hillary Clinton supporter. He told me that 70 percent of the counties with the highest percentage of Latinos, went for Bernie.
He also told me that Bernie reached out to the Latino community in Iowa and Hillary ran a more "traditional" campaign in Iowa.
He also said that Latinos were very enthusiastic for Bernie in Iowa. He said that he felt that Latinos in Iowa were instrumental in helping Bernie secure that tie in Iowa.
I thought that was quite interesting.

(751 posts)They are different state to state and vote differently. Sanders also got creamed by white voters in the South, yet won huge in other areas.
This is going to be the same with Latinos. The key IMO will be in states like NY/CA he will have time to actually campaign in those states and make significant outreach. There will be like 2 weeks of no elections before NY vote, and very few states voting before June 7 primary in CA.
