AP: Sen. Bernie Sanders says he still maintains a "path toward victory"

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders says he still maintains a "path toward victory" in his Democratic presidential bid against Hillary Clinton, rejecting suggestions that she has all but sewn up the party's nomination.

"I don't believe they have an insurmountable lead," Sanders said Thursday in a phone interview with The Associated Press from Arizona, where he was campaigning. "Secretary Clinton has done phenomenally well in the Deep South and in Florida. That's where she has gotten the lion's share of votes. And I congratulate her for that. But we're out of the Deep South now."

During the beginning of the primaries, the corporate misledia repeatedly squandered opportunities to question Bernie about substantive issues by asking him about Hillary instead. When he refused to dignify those questions with a response, they simply ignored him. Now that he's proven himself to be a viable candidate in spite of a media blackout, they have another opportunity. But once again, they're sucking all the oxygen out of any substantive discussion of actual issues by obsessing about whether the contest is already over. Yet, on the Republican side, Drumpf's remaining opponents are still considered viable contenders.

I realize the OP's article is better than most, but it still operates within the same, constricted defeatist framework. The misledia have waged a not-very-veiled attempt to turn this whole campaign into one extended self-fulfilling prophecy.
