HIGHLY CONTROVERSIAL : Bernie Polls better then Hillary among Republicans

Why is anyone surprised is the only controversy here - and please spare me the phony concocted indignant outrage. Bernie and his supporters have been telling Hillary supporters for months he would bring more folks to the Democratic table in this election. Why would it be any surprise some of them would be "Right-Leaning Anti-Establishment Voters"

To this many from the Hillary camp exclaimed "Bernie should conduct a Purity Test" amongst his voters. Really - you think that is a notion Hillary or Bill would entertain for even a nano-second

I'll leave you this food for thought

Hillary supporters should be worried that Bernie polls better against the Republicans. Yes, there are many ways to explain that away too. The argument most repeated is that the Republicans haven’t done a number on him yet. Wait until they red-bait him....

But Hillary’s poll numbers show weakness right now. Yes, she beats the Republicans in most polls. But why is Bernie doing better? Think about that for a bit. He’s a self-declared socialist in the most capitalist country in the world and he’s doing better than Hillary Rodham Clinton, a capitalist to the core? How can that be?

The answer is simple. Bernie is everything Hillary is not. He’s a straight shooter, who is willing to fight Wall Street and to stop fighting useless wars. He offers bold proposals that would really make a tangible difference in people’s lives, like free higher education. And he doesn’t need to test his lines in a focus group. As a result, he has the enthusiastic support of young people of all hues. He’s also a big hit with independents. Everyone knows he’s completely committed to fighting runaway inequality. And this year, that’s what voters really want.

What they don’t want is what we’re hearing from so many Hillary supporters — defensiveness, complex explanations about why her positions have changed, why she’s being treated unfairly, why her more centrists positions are really more progressive, why she’s really telling the truth even when she isn’t. It’s spin after spin after spin. It doesn’t sit well with voters.

So once again as Clinton supporters hold up some "Unscientific Results" from a internet poll question FreeRepublic most likely tainted to attack Bernie supporters answer me this one question ......

Just how are Clinton supporters going to prevent Clinton from taking a HARD RIGHT TURN once she wraps up the nomination, and stacking her administration and platform with Third Way operatives and policies.

For those to prefer Bernie to Hillary seems obvious. Bad as he is, I prefer Trump to Cruz, for the same reason.

Which explains why many republicans despise Clinton even though Sanders is ideologically to her left. Hmmm I wonder whats unique about her that sets her apart from the other candidates that a conservative might object to???

That D after his name is a smokescreen.

He made the stock market strong, put black people in jail, kicked people off welfare, made it easier for corporations to make money by giving away our jobs to other countries, ended banking regulations and did two, i say TWO major fuck yous on the gay community with DADT and DOMA.

Best Republican President in history.

Unfortunately, GE polls this far out don't carry much information, particularly in Bernie's case, since he's never been subjected to GOP attacks.

But it's still a step in the right direction from the days when they insisted that polls were part of a Clintonian conspiracy and that the "voice of the people" was measured in clickbait polls and facebook likes.

That was the "Take Away" from the resent DNC meeting hidden by Team Hillary's distortion of facts in the "Obama telling donors to unite behind Hillary.

Not only was it FALSE it served well to hide the fact Hillary is about to take a hard right

Anyway, Third Way is a small think tank that nobody cares about except for a few conspiracy theorists on the far left.

BTW, Obama was right, the party should unite behind Hillary. The sooner the better.

strength and greed coupled with a bit of insider envy. Yes, these are republicon traits. For you see, many Hillarians are Republicrats: republicons for whom their party simply became way too crazy so they moved over and took up residence within the Democratic party by simply taking the party over and out of the hands of FDR Democrats.

Very interesting discussion here at The Hive of what TPM Readers think of the group 'Third Way' (sub req). I think I'll jump in myself. But just speaking for myself, it's not so much that I disagree with most of the group's positions (though I do) as I see them as sort of irrelevant to most current policy discussions.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/discussion-of-third-way

Third Way has been waging war against the Left for some time now as seen in their incessant attacks against Bernie Sanders and Elisabeth Warren.

How much of a difference they have made in Bernie's popularity is debatable but their participation in trying to take him down is not

...I don't think it's possible for them to do as much damage to him in a few months as it took them 25 years to do to Hillary Clinton.

They could turn every "unsure" person against him, and still not get his unfavorables as high as Hillary's already are.

On the flip side, it's not just the negatives that make the difference, it's also the positives... and Hillary does not have the positives that Bernie has for appealing to people outside the base... i.e. the authenticity, the "anti-establishment" appeal, the other stuff mentioned in the OP.

Short version: I think either Hillary or Bernie would beat Trump, but I feel more confident about Bernie.

Does have Hillary have more "Dirt" for the GOP to mine - as Sara Palin would say "You betcha"

They have held their powder dry on the emails so far, Hillary's far reaching ties into Wall St Cronies, and the disputable ties between the Clinton foundation and Hillary's State Department policies

Fertile Ground for reinforcing her negatives
