GOP pollster 'We Ask America' has Obama up by 3 in Iowa; CO R +1

We try to fulfill as many poll requests as possible, especially when someone reminds us that we haven’t re-polled two states lately that could play important roles in a tight presidential race: Iowa and Colorado. Both are considered swing states, but their political underpinnings vary as much as their terrains. Still, each have earned their Swing State status by having an electorate that doesn’t fit comfortably into political molds.

On the evening of October 15, we called 1,499 likely voters in Iowa (Margin of Error: ±2.6%), and 1,206 likely voters in Colorado (Margin of Error: ±2.9%) and asked them who they plan to vote for plus an array of demographic questions. We included Libertarian Gary Johnson to measure support for a third party. Each of the following results have been weighted to correct for any over-/under-sampling, and we’ve included the breakdown of self-described Republicans / Democrats / Independents that completed the questions. Here are the results:

OBAMA ROMNEY JOHNSON UNDECIDED GOP / DEM / IND
IOWA 48.7% 45.9% 1.2% 4.2% 33 / 36 / 31
COLORADO 47.0% 48.1% 1.4% 3.5% 35 / 34 / 31

The majority of polls have Obama ahead.

I assume the Democrats in Iowa are letting voters there know about Romney's position against wind power?

And they should also circulate the statement Sen. Charles Grasseley (R-IW) made last month where he criticized Romney about it.

Are they doing that I assume?

PPP (supposedly a dem pollster, but there polling is usually very fair) poll. It has Romney up by 2 on Friday and Obama up by 2 on Saturday. Both I can buy into, but what suddenly causes a Sunday sample to be +12 for Romney? Nothing major happened.

two posts and you seem to think you know what I posted about the recall? I posted all kinds of things including polls showing Walker ahead. Who were you back then?

You just have the aura about you. I'm sure that people walking down the street stop and say to each other "poor guy... he was clearly in denial about Walker".

I'm sure it isn't a recently-deceased-now-zombie poster.

I was in denial, I have to admit. When you work as hard for something as that you feel you can do it. But I'm just wondering who this poster was back then?

...your posting name IS "Wisconsin Dem". I'm pretty sure that about 98% of Wisconsin Democrats were in denial as it slipped away.

But yeah... I suspect this isn't just intuition.

Obama only needs one of those five as long he holds on to OH, NH, and WI.
