2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCamp Hillary is cleverly trying to shift away from state-by-state wins, because they will be losing!
It's kind of shocking to see the glee with which Hillary's supporters tout Hillary's lead in the delegate count, which is almost entirely due to the very UN-democratically appointed superdelegates.
As the weeks go by, and Bernie racks up more and more state wins, average rank-and-file Democrats are going to start wondering WTF is going on, that Hillary still has so many delegates. Where's the democracy, they are going to wonder.
The superdelegate issue isn't going away. If Camp Hillary thinks that these superdelegates are going to push her over the top without a full-scale revolt, they're sadly mistaken.

(5,217 posts)his supporters would have no option but to sit down and shut up. The fact is that is far from the truth.
The Democratic Party, rather than being a life line as it was for past and traditional candidates, has actually been oppressing his campaign. Not only does he not need them, but he is better off without them. All of his money comes from his supporters, supporters who don't give a shit whether or not the Party supports him.
Keep on cheating, and using the Party machinery against him, and see where it gets you.
I hope Bernie and his staff are paying close attention and documenting every time one of those election "aberrations" shave a few more points away from Bernie toward Hillary. because they can't win without stacking the deck (the polite term). Anybody who believes that we have seen the last of the cheating, pay close attention.

(19,877 posts)Hillary is leading with pledged delegates by 200. And leading with popular vote by almost 2 million.

(18,402 posts)It's beginning to sound like the climate change deniers around here. It frankly isn't worth responding when these kinds of faith-based posts appear. It's just pure belief, and the facts don't matter. Amazing.

Which of these will Sanders win?
Which of these will Clinton win?

(6,437 posts)And will be up by even more by the end of next Tuesday. And, at worst, she will tie Bernie in states wins through next Tuesday (NE, KS, ME vs MI, MS and LA).

(24,689 posts)Hillary has a huge lead in pledged delegates. The superdelegates have nothing to do with that. Are you completely clueless or just pretending?

(42,700 posts)How that makes the margin "almost entirely" due to superdelgates is something only you can explain.

(12,689 posts)And it's a lead of more almost 200 pledged delegates, which is quite an advantage. Even if you look at state by state wins, Clinton has more on the board, but the race isn't decided by who wins more state, it's decided by who wins more delegates. Super delegates are not a part of the equation, since they are not going to vote for anyone that does not have the pledged delegate lead, as evidenced by the 2008 race when several endorsed Obama once it was clear that the math was inevitable for him.

(44,228 posts)unpledged delegates aren't going to matter in the least. Hillary will have more than enough pledged delegates to win the nomination.
