Bernie supporters: What should be our one big message for today?

What should be our one big message for the day after Super Tuesday?

Bonus: Give 2 or 3 messages for today instead of just 1.

Trying to think of some good messages for today to help spread these messages.

And a lot of it is Bernie country. The South was never gonna break our way, but the rest of the country has a strong chance of feeling the Bern!

We could do better in the north and west.

It's true the south was difficult territory but I don't want to bog down in analyzing the reasons. More important to focus on the next states and keep rolling.

79. The Big Problem in Calif. is the dishonesty of the corrupt election officials.

When the "label Monsanto" food labelling initiative was on the ballot, the "win" for Mosnanto was announced before one million votes were counted.

And that is just the norm!

There are 67 Registrar of Voters - one for each county. I know of one and only one that is honest. (But gosh, oh gee, so many of them are so personable!)

11. Opportunity - by: Edward Rowland Sill (1841-1887)

THIS I beheld, or dreamed it in a dream:--
There spread a cloud of dust along a plain;
And underneath the cloud, or in it, raged
A furious battle, and men yelled, and swords
Shocked upon swords and shields. A prince's banner
Wavered, then staggered backward, hemmed by foes.
A craven hung along the battle's edge,
And thought, "Had I a sword of keener steel--
That blue blade that the king's son bears, -- but this
Blunt thing--!" he snapped and flung it from his hand,
And lowering crept away and left the field.
Then came the king's son, wounded, sore bestead,
And weaponless, and saw the broken sword,
Hilt-buried in the dry and trodden sand,
And ran and snatched it, and with battle shout
Lifted afresh he hewed his enemy down,
And saved a great cause that heroic day.

13. We've not yet begun to fight

The map for Super Tuesday didn't do Sanders any favors. It's much better going forward. All we have to do is keep pushing to get Bernie's message out there and contrast him with Hillary. I mean the contrast on the issues is night and day; Sanders is on the winning side of just about every major decision or view vs Clinton. And when it comes to integrity, game over. We just have to keep working to spread the word and push back on the artful smear from Clinton.

22. Nice!

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun

Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway
Do they still meet there by the Cut

There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide

At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river

Forever and ever

My big fear is that the election is going to devolve into the usual Democratic Tapioca of nothing, nothing and more nothing if Clinton is the nominee.

No discussion of any of the issues that are vital. And endless repetition of the "Everything would be great if it weren't for the Republicans."

And if Trump is the GOP nominee, The Democrats will be running against a Populist who will genrate excitement among many voters.

Win ior lose, Bernie needs to continue to fight for Progressive and Liberal positions and agenda.

Last edited Wed Mar 2, 2016, 01:09 PM - Edit history (1)

yesterday. Many people thought he would *only* take Vermont. He won four states. I don't think anyone expected him to do a whole lot better than he did do.Yes, Clinton got a lot of delegates, but there is still more than half of the country, including delegate-rich California, left to go. In the coming weeks, there are primaries in states that poll better for Sanders, so I think he will only rise from here (and "here" could have been much worse than it is). I am looking forward to canvassing this weekend and voting on the 15th.

68. or 10 or 8 or whatever--but the exit polls say that people who voted Clinton

did so because they thought she was the frontrunner in the primaries and/or November

we gotta tell them what the FBI and DoS are up to

70. To paraphrase JFK

We choose to vote for Bernie and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.

This is our Moon shot. Prepare for launch.

71. If you claim to be a liberal vote for the only liberal candidate in the Race Bernie Sanders.

And the message is we are all in it together, don't give into all this racism the Hillary campaign is promoting.

73. The message should be:

The Sanders campaign is coming to your state so be ready to vote or caucus.

or

Rest assured, your voice will be heard in this election cycle.

Your vote DOES make a difference.

I think the Sanders campaign should come out with a national ad that assures future states that Bernie is in it all the way to the convention.

And to be prepared, get registered and don't worry, your vote will be counted.

Something along that line.

People are either hearing that Hillary is inevitable, or that Bernie can't win and will drop out soon.

He has to pay for the ads, but it will squelch the crap that everyone is hearing.

Just an idea!

78. I think it needed to be said- today I explained voter registration to a Bernie supporting first time

voter. She did not think it would be a big deal if she registered her old address or new one, and assumed she could vote at any polling place in the entire state once registered. I explained the whole thing, including where to look for registration forms, and that she could do an absentee if the polling hours conflicted with her work schedule. (which is why she was considering using her old address).

82. I don't think that will work because Democratic primary voters don't care about Benghazi.

It will do damage in the general election though.

General Libya policy is a big issue though, apart from Benghazi.

83. Bernie has far more experience that Clinton, despite her pretenses to the contrary.

8 years as a mayor, 16 in the House of Representatives, 9 years and counting as a Senator, to her one term as a Senator, one term as SoS.

We need to quit losing the people who claim to be voting for the 'more experienced candidate' to Hillary based on her simply CLAIMING to be more experienced.

85. Absolutely yes. Bernie is experienced.

Not that it matches Clinton as Secretary of State, but he does have international experience too...

As a member of Congress, Sanders has visited at least 41 countries, including Mexico, China, Israel, Vietnam, and South Africa, over the course of more than two dozen government-sponsored and privately-funded trips. His travels have taken him to the Middle East to visit a refugee camp in Jordan, discuss the Syrian conflict with diplomats in Turkey, and meet U.S. military officials in Afghanistan. Sanders has traveled to Central America to warn against the dangers of flawed trade policy, and spent a considerable amount of time visiting Nordic nations that he now holds up as models for America to emulate.

84. The Primary is the place to SEND A MESSAGE!

You can worry about your vote in the GE later.

This is a very important point, I think, for many voters.

Send the powers-that-be in the Democratic Party a message for reform on all fronts--dirty money politics, billionaires buying elections, existing cuts and more threats to Social Security, failure to implement Medicare-for-all (a Democratic Party platform item since Harry Truman!); RESTORE free public college tuition (like we once had!); END Reaganomics; RESTORE fair taxation; support diplomacy and peace, etc.

NOW is the time to do this! It jeopardizes nothing to vote your conscience in the primary. And, who knows?, we might find ourselves with a candidate who is a REAL Democrat, and whose populist agenda and clean record on contributions clearly appeals to far more people than Clinton does, nationally, and who beats the pants off all Republicans including Trump.

1. The primary is the place to send a message.
2. Sanders wins against ALL Republicans in nat'l polls, while Clinton wins by less or loses!
