And here’s Kurt Cobain’s and Courtney Love’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain on how she got the name “Bean” twenty years ago:

Frances Bean Cobain was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and was immediately anointed the world’s newest rock princess. Her parents were two of the biggest rock stars on the planet and her godfather is R.E.M frontman Michael Stipe. Kurt Cobain named his daughter after Frances McKee, the guitarist for The Vaselines, and gave her the middle named Bean because he thought she resembled a kidney bean on the ultrasound. Unfortunately, Frances never really got to know her father; he shot himself to death when she was just 20 months old.

6. I take offense to this on a couple fronts.

One: that sounds like he may have stolen that, seeing as how he would have been a late teen early twenties when Kurt was around.
and two: He did not shoot himself. Kurt was a very short man, had both hands on the barrel of the shotgun and had his shoes on. Therefore he had no way to pull the trigger. Also, he had shot up with an enormous amount of heroin and the kit was put neatly away. Any honest person who has done any research on this would know this was a murder and covered up. I have been following this story and have invested a large amount of time over the last 15 years reading the book, police reports etc that have come out regarding Kurts death. I was 11 when he died and was and always have been a huge Nirvana fan. It makes me so mad when people say he killed himself. It's easier to think that a rock star with a history of drug use who was found with his head blown off committed suicide than actually investigate.

I am very skeptical. Ryan probabaly thought it would make him sound cool, just like releasing his ipod playlist with Rage Against the Machine. I would love to see some tiny bit of evidence such as someone attesting to the family calling his daughter Bean, or any other mention of the ultrasound. What an idiot.

"Bean" is a common name among many expectant parents for the same reason. Same with "peanut."

This, however, does not change the fact that Ryan is an epic douche.
