Why do you have to do this? Hillary won today - so why do you have to spread untruths about Bernie's

supporters?

I felt terrible when I heard the story of what happened to Delores Huerta. I thought - oh please Bernie supporters - DON"T do this!

And it turns out it wasn't even true! The people in the room were shouting NEUTRAL!

And why was she even speaking in Spanish anyway? If she was wanting to communicate to people that did not speak English she should of had someone standing next to her to translate her words into English because not everyone in that room speaks Spanish!!

Instead of celebrating winning a hard fought caucus, some of you chose to attack Bernie supporters for something they did not even do.

Shameful!

It gets worse than that...now they are trying to bait people into knocking Huerta. It's the same thing they did with John Lewis. It's really sad to see. Those of us who see what they're doing will not be able to forget them very easily. Not very bright if you want people to come together after a primary. If their candidate wins it's going to be really hard for a lot of people to rally around the candidate. It's just not necessary to do these kind of things and it really needs to stop.

There seems to be an active dislike and expectation that surely Sanders or Sanders supporters are racist -- despite that fact that we are embracing Sanders message that when we ALL come together there is nothing we can't do.

I am befuddled. It is acknowledged that when it comes to stepping in it regarding racism, the Clintons aren't saints. It does seem that despite the Clinton's past transgressions, Sanders must work doubly hard and despite that will never be good enough, nor are his supporters. This is directed at a candidate and his supporters that are tired of a corrupt system.

This latest business with "English only" uproar, posts, then eventual walk back and "oops, my bad" is just one more example of how quickly HRC advocates are desperate to divide.

It is wrong for a surrogate to be the one doing the translation. That's a simple fact. It wasn't a Clinton rally she was translating at.

She was wrong in what she heard. It happens. But she should admit it and say "sorry" and we can all move on from it.

Nobody else did,” she said. “Then the Bernie people started yelling no, no, no. One of their people came up, and I suggested we both translate. But the moderator decided we would have no translation. So the Bernie people preferred we would have no translation just because I was going to do the translating. It’s ridiculous, because if I had said something that wasn’t accurate, I’m sure somebody would have corrected me.”

Sun Feb 21, 2016, 12:27 AM

It's harder to fight out of a defensive position than it is to hold the offensive one, even after the truth has been made public. Lies continue to circulate despite being debunked, it's how bullies win. It also demoralizes people and they disengage - which ends up helping the GOP in the end.

It's not personal, it's strategy, and it is despicable. Well, it's not personal to them, just poc. Ironically.

Edited to add: Okay more than one reason.

Also, it is bait. The more Bernie supporters raise hell about it, the more racist we appear. It doesn't help when there are actual cases of racism too... it's a quagmire.

At the end of the day, it is because the Bernie supporters raised a stink about Huerta translating that the moderator decided to go english only because there was no consensus. A pretty nasty attitude from the Bernie camp. This effectively prevented some caucus goers who are mainly spanish speaking to fully understand the rules.

I dont see why they objected. Had Huerta purposely tried to alter what was said during translation, she surely would have been called on it by the Bernie's spanish speaking people.
