Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA): Evolution, Big Bang ‘Lies Straight From The Pit Of Hell’

Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) tore into scientists as tools of the devil in a speech at the Liberty Baptist Church Sportsman’s Banquet last month.

“All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the Big Bang Theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell,” Broun said. “And it’s lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior.

According to Broun, the scientific plot was primarily concerned with hiding the true age of the Earth. Broun serves on the House Science Committee, which came under scrutiny recently after another one of its Republican members, Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO), suggested that victims of “legitimate rape” have unnamed biological defenses against pregnancy.

“You see, there are a lot of scientific data that I’ve found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young Earth,” he said. “I don’t believe that the Earth’s but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them. That’s what the Bible says.”

I don't care what words come out of his duplicitous mouth, the truth is he is WORSE than the morons who actually believe that shit because he KNOWS better. You simply cannot become a medical doctor, study and understand the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Medicine and actually BELIEVE the crap he just spewed to his "base".

He is a liar and a con-artist of the highest order and the kind of Republican that makes me hate that party from a deep and personal level of my own soul.

The fact that there are so many desperately poor, desperately ignorant people yearning for someone, ANYONE to comfort them and provide them a scapegoat for their problems is heart breaking to me. The fact that slimebag Republicans like Broun will exploit those fears and lack of education for political and personal gain is infuriating to me.

What the fuck kind of "Doctor" is he supposed to be, a tribal medicine man or an 18th century leech-prescriber?

According to the real facts, as revealed by Archbishop Ussher in the 17th century, the earth is NOT 9,000 years old, but only about 6,000. An error of this magnitude makes it obvious that Broun is spewing heresy from the very pits of hell.

Ussher deduced that the first day of creation began at nightfall preceding Sunday, October 23, 4004 BC. He didn't say which side of the earth was in nightfall at the time, or at what time "Sunday" would begin - two hours later, five hours later, or whatever. I suppose those pesky little details are not as important.

Is it any wonder that America is doing so badly in science education?

If you want God's Word on the origin of the world, then look at the fossil record and not to a bowdlerized account lifted from the pagan Epic of Gilgamesh.

Darwin was a Christian.
