Look, our guy took a beating last night. We may still win the election, and we may even, with a lot of work and smarts, be able to spin Romney's lies into a net positive for us, but please stop pretending that this was all some sort of brilliant master plan by Obama. A direct, clear-cut win in this debate would have effectively ended the race; now, there's a decent chance Romney could win. Anyone who thinks Obama would take that chance to carry out some Zen-Master plan is out of touch with reality. The fact is, I'm sure Obama realizes he messed up, and is taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen again. Pretending he meant to do this, on the other hand, just reeks of desperation and wishful thinking.

Ive been saying this all day long. This wasn't a master plan or some scheme.

Obama may have had a plan to come in cautious but it backfired. It's not a devastating loss but it's a loss nonetheless. You can only recover from it if you accept it was a loss.
