Why Millenials only pay 7% of all taxes - Check out the Millenial Median Wage Map

Low wages, high student loans and no equity. Is it really shocking that the amount of the total federal budget revenues provided by millennials is low? Uh, no.

http://www.businessinsider.com/millennial-median-wage-map-2015-12

"Millennials came of age during a tough economic time: Student debt has reached an all-time high, and the job market is more competitive than ever. As a result, young people today aren't earning as much money as their parents did when they were young. So how much are they making?"

You're right. Real wages need to rise. It is an economic necessity.

A certain poster was slamming millennials for paying so little in taxes. That's why I posted this.

I suspect that with the drop in oil prices, those states and North Dakota would be trending much lighter.

Funny, Alabama is just a $1 bill into its grouping. Must be because there is a technology corridor between Decateur and Huntsville.

Is this going to be the new "47%" narrative from some people in the Hillary camp?

It's similar to the situation here in the UK - decently educated , well motivated young people struggling as part of the burgeoning precariat.

It beggars belief that anyone would vilify them or look to marginalize them for "supporting change while poor".

Hopefully, attempts to shame the millennials just won't wash - the generations contributing the larger share of revenue (and therefore, according to some, the only ones worthy of a voice ) are after all the parents and grandparents of these millennials. Many of them must be heartbroken to see their kids/ grand kids struggling and undervalued.

I can't believe I'm seeing this toxic wedge issue being pushed on DU.

Thank goodness for reasoned, fact based posts like yours.
