I dont think it's a gamechanger at all, but it re-raises shit Obama really doesn't need to deal with right now. With a media salivating over a Romney comeback and desperate to make this a real race again to drum up ratings, I could easily see this become a mini firestorm.

Always remember the Rev Wright shit occurred in 2008 when Obama was almost untouchable and it occurred during Dem primaries with plenty of time to recover.

You don't need to give the fence sitters looking for any reason to vote against Obama a reason to. And a speech talking directly to the black community about their troubles could reinforce the worst stereotypes those people have for him. Think about it, what has Obama done to fit the caricature of the "angry black man" they all fear since the Rev Wright moment? If the right wing can play up that fear using any bullshit at all, they'll do it.

I think this is a big fat nothingburger but the timing could be hurtful.
