(Reuters) - Tropical Depression Seventeen strengthened into Tropical Storm Ophelia over the open Atlantic, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Monday.

although it happened. It's not likely to affect any any main land. The Azors may se some effects.
The ones I watch are tje ones originating just off Liberia, in that area. They can be the bad ones.

and only one storm forming at that location has touched main land. It circled around and hit south Florida as a 3 to 4. But that was unusual.
Something tells me though that historical models don't count so much anymore.
