Jerry Brown, whom I think is a good guy, released a short statement about today's shooting. He included his prayers.

Are politicians forced to say that?

Democrats have to pander to the religious too if they want to compete with the GOP.

Remember when members of congress stood on the steps of the capitol building, recited the Pledge of Allegiance and screamed the words "Under God"?

Sickening.

Kudos to one of my senators. She didn't use the word prayer. Barbara hasn't checked in yet, but she did offer her prayers to the families in Colorado.

Republican prayers are all over this.

You have to add a tweet or a Facebook post urging other people to pray, too.

How else will all your friends know that you prayed because you care so much. It doesn't count if everyone doesn't know.

And then I think of Jimmy Carter out there building homes for the poor and homeless.
