1. The last hospital I worked at one of the ENT doc's was nuts about Paleontology..

He came back from on of his trips with a bunch of fossilized dinosaur eggs and he wanted to image the insides with MRI. The only problem was at the time MRI could only image tissue that contained water... not much water in fossilized eggs that turned to rock...
Sooo stick them in the old 2 million dollar CT scanner and VOILA! images of baby dino's..
So he wrote a paper and I got a mention...big woop..
I had fun imaging "non human" objects when it was slow.. It was fun...
I just saw a program on how they used Hi Resolution CT scanners and high tech software to "unwrap" some of the dead sea scrolls. Fascinating..
