Related: About this forumWatch Live Now! SpaceX Falcon Heavy to Launch Arabsat 6A
By SPACE.com Staff 2 minutes ago
SpaceX will launch a Falcon Heavy rocket carrying the Arabsat-6A satellite from Launch Complex 39A of NASA's Kennedy Space Center today (April 11) on its first commercial mission. Falcon Heavy is scheduled to launch the Arabsat-6A satellite into orbit at 6:35 p.m. EDT (2235 GMT).
You can watch the launch here, courtesy of SpaceX, or directly from the company's webcast page. SpaceX has a 90-minute window for today's launch try. The weather forecast calls for a 90% chance of good flight weather.
Today's launch has been delayed twice this week. SpaceX initially targeted an April 9 launch for Falcon Heavy, but delayed it to April 10 (and ultimately today) after weather prevented liftoff.
This will be the first Falcon Heavy Block 5 rocket to fly, using the upgraded Block 5 Falcon 9 boosters on its side. It is also SpaceX's first commercial Falcon Heavy mission.
