Val Kilmer Said He Thinks Many People Have Been Cured Of Cancer By Prayer

http://celebrityinsider.org/val-kilmer-said-he-thinks-many-people-have-been-cured-of-cancer-by-prayer-38817/

---------
Val Kilmer believes the power of prayer can heal. After months of denying cancer rumors, the 57-year-old actor revealed last month he has been recovering from cancer. Val discussed his health struggles in a fan Q & A Reddit session and said faith would play a crucial role in his recovery.

Kilmer said many people know he is a Christian Scientist and think he is “endangering” himself, but according to Val, many people have died because of modern medicine and many people have been healed from prayer.

Val denied having cancer after Michael Douglas told reporters he had given him advice and recommendations in his struggle with oral cancer.

Today, Kilmer explained how he believes the devotion to Christian Science was his key to recovery.

1. Never seen cancer "cured by prayer"

But I've seen more people than I care to count present with end stage cancers that could have been treated with "modern medicine" had they not chosen to focus on praying the cancer away.

2. Our immune system is amazing and sometimes does indeed figure out that cancer is an enemy.

In fact, it seems the most promising treatments are ones where we figure out how to instruct the immune system to take care of the problem itself. We've made great strides so far.

But no god did anything to help with that. Humans had to do it all on their own.

I'm not saying I didn't like him. He just was never as good as he thought he was. And his Batman---ooof.

And I absolutely loved Top Secret, but he and I were both very young back then.

13. Which is more irritating?

The nutbags who have thrown all caution into the wind to accept an intercessory deity without reservation?

OR

The lukewarm cafeteria believers who ask people to pray for them, get the best medical treatment they can afford, and then give credit for their recovery to god?

It's a tough call.

14. Well, the former generally disappear due to, ya know, dying more often than not.

I'd say the latter are more annoying because it sends the message that those who suffer or die from a disease just aren't loved by god as much. What a horrible worldview to have.
