(4,164 posts)flying to the west of their nest. It was black winged and I haven't seen any bird locally with such a large wingspan.
When one of the adults is on the near by lamp post i can clearly see the white chest. But this one was too far away and flying away from me to see it's front.

(4,164 posts)their nest on power poles. That wasn't good for the power company or for the birds. So we got poles with platforms on top to attract the Osprey to build there. I don't know if it was done by the power company or the State Fish & Wildlife. Anyway, it worked. And i now live close to an Osprey family.

(130,892 posts)THIS nest seems to have been build by the osprey themselves, on top of small boat house, on a creek near large river, many years ago.
