We were visited by turkey vultures yesterday and today.

Kind of unusual for a suburban area, but one spotted some roadkill (squirrel, maybe rabbit) that caught its fancy just across the street from our driveway. Another landed in a nearby tree, and they eventually traded places. They were pretty blase about the two cars that passed them while they were brunching.

One returned the next day to continue feeding. Must be tough chewing or something.

One of our members leads a hike a week and frequently gets us lost.... not seriously, but still, lost.

I pointed out to him today, that there are always Turkey or Black Vultures circling over our heads when he is leading our hikes.

He agreed...said its that they are noticing he is getting slower and slower as he gets older and older. He is 85.

I see them up close a lot. Ewww.

But, they are beautiful when soaring huge lazy circles in a blue summer sky.

There was an immature Bald Eagle in the bean field munching on a dead skunk.
