Birders
Related: About this forumIt's 7:30 am and I already have 4 hummingbirds competing for 2 feeders.
It seems like later in the season they are more likely to share, but they are quite competitive in the early spring. They put on quite a show.
I put my feeders up about a week ago and had my first visitor within an hour.

(31,516 posts)They catch the morning sun and the birds glow like little jewels. They really get busy in late spring and early summer. I guess the nestlings are coming around about that time.

(22,794 posts)We still get excited when the first ones show up. I suspect the first ones are just stopping by on their way north, because we often see a few feeding and then there is a pause before we get some who come every day. Watching birds on the feeders is better than TV any day.

(16,334 posts)it was one of the tiny green ones. He flew over the spot where the feeder usually is and was like "Hey! Lady! In the Window! Where's the stuff?"
I got it ready and later in the afternoon I saw several return to the spot.
