but he's a .226 career hitter and he has nine home runs over 16 MLB seasons.

As a baseball trivia enthusiast, can you name 3 of the top 5 pitchers with the best career OPS of all time?

Answers below...

Ken Brett: .722 OPS, 10 HR, 42 RBI in 350 PA (he's George Brett's big brother!!)

Sloppy Thurston: .682 OPS, 5 HR, 79 RBI in 698 PA

Les Sweetland: .679 OPS, 0 HR, 34 RBI in 325 PA

Jack Scott: .673 OPS, 5 HR, 73 RBI in 736 PA

Dontrelle Willis: .665 OPS, 9 HR, 39 RBI in 447 PA

If you knew two of them, I'm impressed. If you even knew one of them, I'm still quite impressed.

I wouldn't have known a single one of them either.

Drysdale, by the way, had a .523 career OPS over 14 seasons. Not too shabby for a pitcher.

Williams book-ended his career with 2 steals in 1939 and just got the 1 steal in 1960 to accomplish that feat (I had to look that up, of course).

Rickey Henderson did it but obviously later than the Splendid Splinter.

Right before Greinke’s homer Walker hit a 3 run homer.

I enjoy watching Greinke pitch. In addition to being a great pitcher he is an overall terrific athlete. Did you see him cover first base and stretch out to get the ball and put out a very close play?
