signed originally with the Orioles in 2013, was traded to the Giants in March 2019, and made his MLB debut on May 29th.

Giant fans could thank outfielders Gerardo Parra and Mac Williamson for the slow starts that allowed Yastrzemski to be called up. But they should really thank Farhan Zaidi, head of baseball operations, and the Giants scouting staff, for finding this guy.

The roster still needs a lot of work: core players are getting old, under-performing, and under contracts making them difficult to move.
