but there's a dark side to horse racing. I work at an equine rescue sanctuary in Oregon and we have some of the thoroughbreds in our barns who have been thrown in the garbage by this sport. We cannot rescue all of them - many more are crammed into trucks and shipped to Mexico or Canada for slaughter.
