(36,423 posts)The party week is hot, but the game is kinda lackluster; a collection of all star football players doesn't translate to a good game unless you are starstruck by watching a bunch of prima donnas playing with no team cohesion. You won't see any Bronco or Panther players either.

(78,249 posts)It's the islands' one moment in the NFL spotlight. (Well, except for all the Hawai'i players in the league. ) Back when there was only a week between the conference championship games and the Superb Owl, the Pro Bowl was played the week after the SB. After Nineleven(TM), the schedule got pushed back a week, and the Superdome was already booked for a convention. I suggested that the NFL already had a stadium and hotel rooms booked for that week, in Honolulu. But noooooo! No no no no no no no no no! </belushi> The league bought off the convention and played the game in NOLA after all. Dammit! That would have been historic!

(10,893 posts)idea to move the Pro Bowl to before the Super Bowl. Even though the Pro Bowl is lighter than a typical game, the Pro Bowl players from the 2 teams in the SB would still risk injury and hurt their teams' chances.
