California high schools that use “Redskins” as their mascot would be forced to change the controversial name under a bill headed to Gov. Jerry Brown.

AB30 by Assemblyman Luis Alejo, D-Salinas, gives public schools in the state until 2017 to phase out the use of “Redskins“ as mascots. The Assembly passed AB30 in a bipartisan 54-8 vote on Thursday....

“Such terms have no business being used as mascots in our schools or otherwise,” Alejo said Thursday.

While many schools have dropped Indian mascots over the years, the four California holdouts have fought the name change, saying their mascot is a source of pride and is used in a respectful manner.

So what happens when Landover plays at Santa Clara?

2. I don't think so. I believe the NFC West played the East last year.

So they have three years to figure it out. Unless we somehow manage to finish last in the division, which is not at all outside the realm of possibility (I'm taking it as a given that the Potatoes will finish last ).
