Dez Bryant states case: $13M is ‘cool’ but ‘where’s my security?’ Jerry Jones responds
ARLINGTON — Dez Bryant wasn’t inside AT&T Stadium Wednesday, when the Cowboys staged their second minicamp practice.
But owner Jerry Jones is confident the star receiver will be there Sept. 13, when they face the New York Giants in the season opener.
“I have no doubt that he’ll be leading the way against the Giants,” Jones said. “We just know how competitive Dez is and how much he wants to beat the Giants and how much he wants to support his teammates.”
Bryant has spent the last few weeks generally abstaining from the Cowboys’ offseason program as he aims to net a long-term deal with Dallas. He has been pegged with the franchise tag but has yet to sign the tender. Because he’s not under contract, he can’t be fined for not attending the minicamp.
