A valiant effort, with fairly high winds. My husband and I stayed until they were finished. Forgive the quality, these were taken wth my phone. I posted them on Facebook, but Skywriting is so transient, literally gone with the wind. The first word was in tatters but the time he finished the last. It was beautiful

(3,747 posts)Hell of a thing to do in those winds, even if the worst was over. Good on them.
Btw, hope the winds didn't hit you too hard. I rode back during the worst of the rain from golden gardens with my girlfriend. It was nasty. Debris everywhere on the road and the burke gilman, and smashed cars, trees, and houses. Our power was out for 18 hours.

(41,979 posts)There was all kinds of branches and debris. The weather had cleared up a bit. The Sun was out I saw a young boy and his dad staring at something, and by the time I could see it, the word "Black" was finished. I knew what it had to be, I was so excited I wanted to cheer. That little plane in that big sky with those winds--it was both heroic and symbolic. We both wanted to stand witness, I didn't want the effort to go unnoticed.
(We didn't lose power but our animals were scared. Our big Rottweiler ended up sleeping in our bedroom--he only looks scary)
