NRA Talking Points™ spewing gun fetishist holds home invaders at gunpoint

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - An Evansville man who held two home invasion suspects at gunpoint until police arrived shared his story with 14 News.
...
Matt was behind his bedroom door when out of nowhere, he says two men kicked in the front door of his Idlewild Drive home.

"I raced for the gun vault and had my gun in my hand in 5-seconds and then answered the door," says Matt.
...
Matt says the suspects were surprised and with no other options didn't move until police arrived. For two-long-minutes, Matt's pistol stayed locked on his targets loaded and at the ready.
...
Both suspects remain in the Vanderburgh County Jail charged with armed burglary and robbery with a firearm.

congrats, you have just proven the point that "shit happens everyday".

In everything you will find a few bad eggs, that is just a fact of life. My sister's friend's life was saved because she wasnt wearing a seatbelt when she ran off the road into a storm run off pond- does this prove that seatbelts don't save lives? hardly.

BTW - John Wayne's real name was Marion Morrison, he got a deferment to keep out of WWII and he wore a hair piece!

but you have to understand - if you were to ask this guy why he felt he had a right to own a firearm, he would likely cite one or more reasons which at some point the NRA probably has cited. Therefore, he is a de facto spewer of NRA Talking Points™, probably a member of the John Birch Society, most certainly a fetishist and/or dependent on his firearm as a penile prosthesis, and while his gun may have saved him this time, statistics will eventually catch up with him when his pistol one day becomes self-aware, bursts free from its lock box and empties itself into his sleeping head. Or something.

At least that's what I hear from some quarters.

Face it: Every defensive gun use that crosses the wires anywhere, anytime gets played up in the gungeon as the savior of all mankind. The myriad crimes and tragedies like this one -- not so much.

So perhaps all those "names" you're so worried about sting because of a guilty conscience.

doesn't mean the NRA isn't a distorted, highly flawed, piece-of-shit political organization that has long since lost sight of their mission...

These two concepts are independent of one another...

For the sarcasm impaired, the NRA Talking Points™, along with gun fetishist in the title is merely a play directed towards all those who label any defense of gun ownership as an "NRA talking point", and would almost certainly have directed the same towards the homeowner in this story had he voiced his reasons for keeping weapons, even after the fact of the above incident.
