Alas, winter (plus rain today) is limiting our dog park visits, so I couldn't take him to see his pals.
He got some sausages fished out of the last of the gumbo.

We stopped contact with other dogs and dog parks - this canine flu or whatever has hit and we can't take any chances.

That flu hasn't hit around here. I checked on county animal welfare department online & it specifically said no cases have yet to be reported in the tricounty area. So far, so good.

(5,742 posts)We have a little 14 year old couch potato. He weighs 10 pounds and the cat weighs 15, but he makes up for it in attitude.

(65,580 posts)Back in the mid 80s, my wife was in the next town west & a baby cat was wandering across the busy road. She stops, waves the oncoming car to slow, picked up the kitten, put it in her pocket, and drove off.
Took it to the vet (who ultimately did all work for free if we paid for meds & kept the cat).
She had an intestinal infection, a respiratory infection, and was malnourished.
Exactly like in Sophie's Choice when Nathan first funds her.
So, we named her Sophie! She lived another 18 years.

(65,580 posts)We don't feed him people food much, so big treat for him.
I pulled the shrimp & crab out, since I don't know how his GI would handle that.
But, the andouille he got. And, he ate all his veggies! Like a good boy!
