Got something interesting in the mail today

I'm still walking around here in a fog, periodic tears, shock about my loss on Saturday. When the mail came, there was a letter in it--postmarked Saturday--with scribbly writing. I opened it up and this is what it said:

Dear (Delarage):

Hello my name is Skylar, I'm 11 years old. I'm writing to you today because I want to give some encouraging messages during this stressful time.

Here is one of my favorite scriptures that has been helping me through this pandemic this scripture is at Revelations 21:3-4 "with that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: Look! The tent of God is with mankind and he will reside with them, and they will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain will be anymore. The former things have passed away."

I hope this little message can help lift your spirits during this pandemic!

Sincerely,

Skylar

I do believe in signs and that this is one.

Personally, if I got a letter like that I'd be annoyed at best, as for me the religious thing isn't meaningful.

It does sound as if it's meaningful to know, which is good.

It is meaningful to me and I appreciated it greatly

A passage about overcoming sadness on a day when I lost my 12-year-old pup hit the spot.

I too, believe in signs. All we need to do is be open to them and pay attention.

I am so glad this came to you at a time when you very much needed it.

With the COVID quarantine, many parents are encouraging their kids to write good old fashioned letters! Of course, kids who aren't used to writing letters may say ""Who to?" or "About what?". So I could see them saying, "Why don't you write to people who have lost their pets?".

since it was post-marked on the day he died; I got it in the mail several days later. No one was at the vet's office except one nurse who volunteered to stay after closing to take him. Even if it was written beforehand, the message really hit the spot when it came, which makes me think.
