Town in Italy starts using Silent Fireworks as a way of Respecting their Animals

had no idea these existed.

During firework displays animals are often confused as to where the loud noises are coming from which makes them run frantically away. Unfortunately, this sometimes results in them being hit by a car. Other animals may be too close to the explosion and receive burns or eye damage as a result. If you keep chickens, you might find that they produce fewer eggs after a firework display.

People of the town of Collecchio in the province of Parma in Italy are doing something about it. The local government has introduced new legislation forcing citizens to use silent fireworks as a way of respecting the animals and reducing the stress caused them.

The company, Setti Fireworks make fireworks which produce a spectacular light show but without the deafening sounds normally associated with a firework display. They design their fireworks to fit the venue and event that they will be used for.

somewhere in time past, I got a fireworks tutorial and hte white ones that pop and make the most noise and the plainest were described as "Italian made", the quietest and prettiest were described as "French made".
The fireworks go off a block from my house, the dog would love if they did that, as it is, I have to have the TV turned up to blasting and all the windows shut in July. Nothing I can do about hte ash falling in my yard.

Everyone shoots off firecrackers, and it goes on for hours.

These fireworks would prevent animals from being terrorized.

It is nervewracking to us non-vets as well.
Plus, down here, there is a bad habit of shooting guns into the air.

I believe it was within an article about a family dog which disappeared and was gone a long time until someone had its chip scanned and it was finally returned.

They lost their little friend on the night of the 4th of July. The article said that's when a lot of animals get so frightened they just take off, to escape the sounds.

I think a lot of idiots in the US would insist you are trying to curtail their "rights" if you ask them to respect the pets and the wildlife in their area.

Sad, isn't it?

Sooner or later, dixiegrrrrl, it's got to happen here, no matter how many dimwits there are in the country. What a tremendous idea.

To think that they are indeed illegal in some places in the country, but down here the fireworks stands sprout like mushrooms 2 weeks before the 4th.
