I originally learned of this amazing comfort food from Ralph Nader of all people. Decades ago, he wrote a book where he recounted how his mother would make LBB for the family when they didn't have much money, but oh, what a flavor! He even included a recipe.
Of course, I lost the recipe but found a comparable one online and made some. It was in the slow cooker since 7:00 last night. As it's cold, windy, -- and it's snowed a little, I really needed something that tasted good, warmed me from the inside out, and yes, gave me comfort.
Another plus is you make it with saved bones from lamb stew and a few herbs like rosemary and thyme. You won't find a can of Campbell's lamb broth in a store.

Onions, carrots and celery dry cooked in the pot before the bones, spices and water go in..
4 hours on a slow even steam release yields a delicious and hearty broth after removing all the solid stuff. Needs to be cooled and the fat removed from the top.
About 10 cup only last about a week around here.
Sometimes I use it as a base for fresh veg like Kale, potatoes, onions or cabbage.
Healthy too!
I wonder where I can get lamb bones? I don't particularly care for lamb/sheep/mutton..

(46,133 posts)because it was Easter. I made a Mediterranean Lamb Stew, saved the bones, and yesterday, I made the lamb broth from them.
You might like the lamb broth because it has a nuanced flavor, not too gamey.
Try asking your butcher if the store has lamb bones they were going to throw away. They'll sell them to you.
