What's for Dinner, Sun., Aug. 5, 2018

The RG marinated some lamb in olive oil and herbs. Garlic. This will roast around noon or 1.

Good thing we have a kitchen fan the size of a Volkswagon; the heat advisory started at 10 a.m. and it's predicted to be 90 degrees plus. Now personally, I would not roast lamb on one of the hottest days of the summer, but I'm not the chef around here. I'm just the gardener.

I'm exploring options for salads and accompaniments now. Will post back on what I come up with if it is interesting.

Dessert is pitted cherries and roasted plums topped with mascarpone and a little ricotta.

I am tempted to try an all vegetable dinner -- but my guys might howl over that.

cold cucumber soup
corn on the cob
roasted asparagus beans

and I have some black bean burgers left over from the other night.

I also have some good local peaches that I can serve for dessert, maybe with vanilla ice cream.

Ceasar salad kit with cuke and carrots added. Topped it with a pkg of lemon dill salmon.
Made some applesause the other night. It turned out very well and that will heat up like pie filling and get topped with some ice cream. Wish I had some granola to sprinkle on.
