What's for Dinner, Sun., Apr. 3, 2016

We're going out for dinner at the Portuguese restaurant. Friends are joining us. Should be fun.

Along the lines of cooking, today I made the Mollie Katzen vegetable cheesecake that I like so much. It has zucchini, carrot, onion, garlic, lots of ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan and eggs. It's plenty of work, so I'm glad it makes enough for about 10 days worth of breakfasts.

pie crust with chicken and gravy and nothing else. In addition, we had speckled butter beans, sauteed cabbage with leeks/garlic/turmeric, roasted homegrown asparagus, and a tomato/carrot/pepper salad. For dessert, we had a lime pie.

neighbor left a little gas jobber when he left and, since we can't grill on the patio, we're out in front of the building. we're at a heavily-trafficked intersection, but i don't care.

we've had some filets hanging out in the freezer, so the husband soaked them in red wine all day. grilled asparagus and bakers to go with.

husband is sketched out and it's making me laugh.

with a veggie fried rice. Both came out pretty good, since leftovers were few.
