Bluefish fishing required a gaff to conk them on the heads with when you landed them so they wouldn't take one of your legs off. They're mean.

I've only liked it Portuguese style, with onion, garlic, tomato, and whatever else you decide to add, wrapped into parchment packages and baked.

I/we caught many of them, plain old hook and line, caught so many one year we had a freezer full (and husband dreamed of smoking them, which we did, even on our apartment balcony!) 30+ years ago, but we enjoyed the catch and the eat.

On a Connecticut shore trip. Guess I have to disagree on some if this. We prepared the same night and no one liked it. But maybe if you smother in sauce might help. Interesting about the gaminess after three days. Any ideas on ocean trout? We are in Galveston and fishing tomorrow
