What's for Dinner, Mon., Sept 5, 2022

What's Labor Day without a hotdog or a hamburger? So I'm having a hamburger tonight. Maybe even a cheeseburger, with onion, tomato, and lettuce.

Cucumber salad.

Dessert: a white chocolate-raspberry fusion bar.

Blueberry basil kombucha.

Took it out of the freezer this morning. Perfect for a rainy day.

dessert is grilled peaches (sprinkle of brown sugar, cinnamon and ginger) and a scoop of vanilla ice cream

He requested fried Lake Erie perch.
He didn’t care what sides I made, so I made corn on the cob, cole slaw, and zucchini-carrot muffins
Ice cream cake for dessert.

Too many tomatoes from the garden! I use Ina Garten's "Cream of Fresh Tomato Soup". Absolutely delicious. We'll just have some French bread with it (from a nearby store that makes great bread).

Not too big on desserts, but I made some brownies yesterday.

We holidayed on Saturday when the SIL smoked some ribs and mac&cheese w/beans and greens, salad with balsamic glaze dressing, and cheesecake and toppings: chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, caramel.

That’s how my friends pronounce burgers. Grilled with cheese and grilled onions served on toasted Kaiser rolls with lettuce and tomato. Ketchup and mustard and pickles, of course.

Grilled corn on the cob and a huge bowl of Cole slaw with all kinds of vegetables chopped up in it.

Cake and ice cream.

with Old Bay. A friend gave me green beans from her garden, here is how I prepared them: https://www.southernliving.com/recipes/green-beans-with-garlic (I added dried savory too, which in German is Bohnenkraut, "bean herb" ). There was leftover potato salad but we'd all had it at lunch, so none of us ate it.

One pound for myself.

And corn on the cob.

I should save the broth for clam chowder a little later, right? (Refrigerated)
