We're happy to have you and hope you come back again!
That's a classic comfort food menu you've got for a cold winter night.

(15,092 posts)I was too lazy to make a salad to go with it, but fresh raspberries for dessert.
My project of the moment is to use up pantry odds and ends. I had a partial box of lasagna noodles to use up, so I made skillet lasagna. Now I have half a container of ricotta to use up.
I love sweetened ricotta with sliced pears for breakfast.

(15,092 posts)I was thinking of maybe putting it into the food processor with frozen blueberries.
This is why I love your daily thread, NJCher. It would never occur to me to combine cheese and a pear! Yet, it sounds perfect.
I guess it's no different than cheese and an apple, etc.
Cheese and pears for breakfast sounds awesome! Well, as long as there's coffee.

(17,500 posts)Marinated in vinegar, garlic, salt, and red pepper flakes overnight and baked covered at 250 for 2.5 ~ 3 hours. I finished some with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce under the broiler. It is fall off the bone tender and FLFC has one without sauce all to himself!
I already ate my serving of chicken and haven't decided what else to have. It is a work night for TJ and we don't have a sit down dinner on work nights. I'll make a salad I guess, I am very unmotivated today.
We are expecting snow tonight so I worry about TJ getting home in the morning.

(22,059 posts)So, we watch quite a few videos about property improvements. In fact, we just spent two weeks working on our beach-box property on Ocracoke Island in the Outer Banks.
We've accepted that we're slightly insane.

(68,735 posts)I just taped a new HGTV show about getting a house read to sell but..they use too many cheap shortcuts for me. They put stickers on the floor so it looked like tile. Now I might do something like that if I was living with it until I could afford better for myself. But I would never deceive buyers... I was always cautious about flipped houses for that reason.

(68,735 posts)It was 4000 sq ft. and once the kids were off to college ...too big. We paid very little for it and made nice profit...new floors. We found a closeout deal for hardwood at 1.99 per square...you can't get laminate for that usually. It was good quality too. We replaced all the icky orange carpet and redid the kitchen -top of the line appliances found on Ebay for big discounts and bargain granite...we did all three bathrooms too.
The living room and den were lovely...just painted and restored. There was a plaster molding which we were able to save. The plaster wall were beautiful after we repaired them. You rarely see plaster work anymore....don't know anyone who can repair it but we managed to find books on how to do it. Our Cleveland House had been vacant 11 years when we bought it and brought it back to life. It was a great deal of fun so I get it.

I turned leftover meatloaf into Shepherd's Pie- also used leftover mashed potatoes, frozen mixed veg and brown gravy from a packet (pretty good). It is in the oven now and smell good.
