"Longmire" is getting weird (I'm streaming it)

I've been streaming and enjoying the TV show 'Longmire', having not seen it when it was on.
But it's become a bit weird, for me.
In season 5, episode 2, Walt Longmire is shot and knocked unconscious with a blow on the head.
He wakes up in the hospital with a concussion (and gunshot wound).
He immediately checks himself out of the hospital to chase after the bad person.
(Repeat --> he has a gunshot wound and concussion)
Also we discover that his deputy, Vic, is in love with him, and displays a lot of jealousy regarding a female doctor who Walt is interested in.
I guess by season five they were running out of ideas?
I just watched season 5, episode 3.
Apparently Walt has made a full recovery from his injuries, but Vic is still very jealous.

Just once, I wish they would have a strong female character who is good at her job and does not have a love interest at work. Not only is it predictable, it really is demeaning to professional women.

(14,726 posts)It is slick and easy but not true to the story.

(4,033 posts)Seems like it often happens with series. The writers just seem to go off the rails and then the show goes off the air because the audience quits watching. Same thing happened to Person of Interest. Started out great and then went veering off into some sort of global conspiracy thing.
