(6,804 posts)1. Do they plan to stone men to death for adultery also?
Not that I want either case to be a real thing, but it would be interesting to know if they plan to go that route.

(2,276 posts)11. From the article it's not clear for what offences they have publicly flogged executed men
But the article says:
In the past year alone, Taliban-appointed judges ordered 417 public floggings and executions, according to Afghan Witness, a research group monitoring human rights in Afghanistan. Of these, 57 were women.
While I agree that stoning women (or anyone for that matter) for adultery is appalling in the extreme, and that women and girls clearly suffer horrifically more than men under the Taliban, it appears that men have suffered the large majority of the public floggings and executions that have been meted out across all offenses. I guess we'll have to wait to see how that changes following this announcement.

(7,246 posts)12. I was wondering that too.
It takes 2 to tango.

(55,824 posts)6. The GOP is already killing American women.
Passing laws to make sure women are killed via medical neglect.

(12,174 posts)9. True, indeed
Given the direction Republicans have headed, its, sadly, not a stretch to think the public stoning of women will show up on their agenda, at some point.
Irish_Dem
(55,824 posts)10. The GOP wishes they could figure out a way to stone women
or burn them at the stake.
In the meantime they make doctors kill women.

(26,218 posts)3. Do those women somehow commit adultery all by themselves?
Or, dare I ask, is there a male partner involved? Shouldn't he also be stoned? What am I missing here?
Irish_Dem
(55,824 posts)7. Same thing here in the US.
It takes two to tango but only women are killed or sent to jail.

(11,365 posts)4. TX will soon introduce this
After they get IVF made illegal. But only for the women.

(55,824 posts)8. Men will never be held accountable for "reproductive crimes."
Because men would not put up with it and would in fact rebel.
