Miss Universe Canada Ejects Transgender Contestant

A transgender woman who was a finalist for Miss Universe Canada has been disqualified from the competition because she was born male.

Denis Davila, the national director of Miss Universe Canada, told the Toronto Starthat the rules state that each contestant must be a "naturally born female." He suspected that Jenna Talackova, a Vancouver native, was not born female, which she later confirmed.

battles to be fought, more consciousnesses to be raised.

LGBT, emphasizing the T, for the new frontier of what we are challenged by.

Heck, I bet one or two of those judges in the Canadian contest have relatives in the LGBT community.

Won't it be nice, if we ever, in my lifetime, (the next 40-50 yrs) get to where this is NOT an issue in a beauty pageant, or, better still, in running for office, being a school principal, mayor, firefighter, etc.
