I am so fucking sick of seeing that crap. Does that mean all racists secretly desire to be AA (or Asian, Latino, etc)?! All anti-Semites are secretly keeping kosher and saying the Shema? Personally, I see it as a form of homophobia, even if accidentally with some, it implies that we, as gays, are really our own worst enemies and everyone else is just an innocent bystander.

I guess after years and years of these battles on DU (and boy howdy, there have been some real flame wars), I can go through periods of burnout. Inevitably the frustration boils over and I just can't keep my mouth shut. I just blew a gasket on LBN and am not the least bit sorry. There are just too many folks around who are either deliberately clueless or truly don't give a damn about how GLBT folks feel. In the worst cases, they trivialize any GLBT issues. It's infuriating.

16. I am right there with you (I also have another topic of concern for me, that is as problematic).

It can be discouraging and a downright personal assault; so it takes a real toll. This is supposed to be a site where this type of thing should be a rarity, but...well, you know. It, also, can be quite humiliating in some cases.

sarcastically calling out someone for it. Jurors were not even reading. My post got hidden, the homophobic post let to stand. Poster's still alive and well.
