Published: 11.18.14,
Dozens of Palestinian youths threw tires set on fire and stones at Israeli security forces in the Jabel Mukaber neighborhood in East Jerusalem on Tuesday night, after violence heightened following the terrorist attack that killed four Israeli Jews at a synagogue in the capital Tuesday morning.
Police responded by firing stun grenades and tear gas at the Palestinian rioters.
Meanwhile, stones were thrown towards the Jerusalem light rail in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat. There were no reported injuries but damage was done to a train car. Searches began to apprehend the suspects behind the incident.
300 right-wing activists protested at the entrance to Jerusalem, near the Bridge of Strings, on Tuesday night. The protesters called for revenge for the synagogue terror attack and called out slogans against the Prophet Muhammad.

NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli settlers late Tuesday smashed the windshields of several Palestinian vehicles in the Nablus district, witnesses said.
Arif al-Tahir from Nablus said he saw dozens of settlers smash windshields near the Huwwara military checkpoint in the presence of Israeli soldiers.
A local Fatah leader, Awwad Naji, added that Israeli soldiers told shop owners to shut down their stores and move their vehicles to avoid having them damaged by settlers.
Meanwhile, settlers also attacked Palestinian vehicles in the village of al-Lubban al-Sharqiyya, Palestinian security sources said.

(30,099 posts)5. Settler violence: Lack of accountability
As the occupying force, Israel must protect the Palestinians in the West Bank. However, the Israeli authorities neglect to fulfill this responsibility and do not do enough to prevent Israeli civilians from attacking Palestinians, their property and their lands. The undeclared policy of the Israeli authorities in response to these attacks is lenient and conciliatory. Perpetrators are rarely tried, and many cases are not investigated at all or are closed with no operative conclusions.
