(CNN) -- On Monday, the team of grave diggers at Shaikh Radwan Cemetery in Gaza City prepared 15 graves, their busiest morning yet. And they're preparing for more.
One of the slots was for 5-year-old Yusif Al-Dalou. He and eight members of his family were killed Sunday in an Israeli airstrike on their home.
Their bodies were carried through the street to the sound of gunfire under Hamas banners to the cemetery.
After the crowd left and the chanting stopped, friends and relatives prayed quietly.

End of the day...they all get fucked when China shuts off our credit-limit.
Meanwhile, both China and Russia are just sitting on their front porches and humming the happy tune as they know exactly what is happening and are quite pleased with it.
Russia, the 'former' USSR knows this all too well.

(2,927 posts)... unfortunately, no one can get to a better way as long as they are accusing one side, or the other, of killing babies with glee. It's a war -- your opinion on who started it will vary depending on the date you chose to believe it started -- 1920, 1948, 1967, 2005 or last week. In a war, innocents die -- that's why they suck. But, they die on both sides and ignoring that fact only leads to more war.
Making accusations of that nature are the opposite of a better way.

(1,417 posts)A better way is for those holding most of the cards to make the bigger compromise........Economic blockades, settlement construction is the opposite of compromise.

(2,927 posts)... in negotiation is pretty much the opposite of being conciliatory.

(1,417 posts)Yup...So are blockades and settlements......So can we agree that both Hamas and Israel are guilty of not having a partner to negotiate with?

(30,109 posts)Something about them not being a state actor, so they get to pummel Israel all they want.
So do you believe Israel lifting the blockade will stop those rockets? Hamas has been very clear they don't want peace with Israel and there's nothing Israel can do (stop settlements, etc) to change their minds. Do you not take Hamas at their word?
You're assuming Hamas will play by the same rules Israel will at the negotiating table, that they want peace like everyone else, when there's no evidence for this position.
They will not stop until Israel is destroyed, and Jews are either massacred or expelled.
What should Israel do?

(1,417 posts)What I said was that the concept of self-defence is meaningless in this situation......When an impoverished community has been subjected for many years to inhuman treatment, economic blockades etc, they are bound to resist.....Claiming self-defence against a resitance movement is nonsense......Is there any other western democracy that would bombard a refugee camp and claim it was in self defence?........Such a bombardment is even more henious when you consider that most Gaza residents are refugees are from the area now occupied by Israel.
So do you believe Israel lifting the blockade will stop those rockets? Hamas has been very clear they don't want peace with Israel and there's nothing Israel can do (stop settlements, etc) to change their minds. Do you not take Hamas at their word?
Israel has caused this problem by refusing to allow the refugees to retun to their ancestoral homes......Hamas does not want peace with Israel and Israel has said it will not negotiate with Hamas......In my book that makes them equally guilty of being war-mongers.
If we can agree on that we can move on to discussing what Israel might do in place of bombing.
