West Bank arson attack: Seven suspects arrested

9 August 2015 55 minutes ago Middle East

At least seven people have been arrested in connection with a deadly arson attack on a Palestinian home in the West Bank, Israeli police say.

An 18-month-old boy died in the attack in late July, which has been blamed on Jewish settlers. His father died of his wounds on Saturday.

The arrests were made in raids on two unauthorised Jewish settlement outposts in the West Bank.

The child's mother and four-year-old brother remain in critical condition.

If the perpetrators would have been Palestinians, there would have been hundreds of mass arrests like the last time, and every house in the area would have been subjected to nightly ransackings. From those arrests, the IDF would have shaken out all the confessions they would have wanted, and the IDF could have congratulated itself on a job well done.

It's obvious that the terrorism against Palestinians isn't really seen as a crime, it's almost as if the IDF consider them subhuman, with no right to justice. For me, the right of being equal in the face of the law is very important, and I think it's shameful when the Israeli leadership so obviously don't want the murderers to be caught.
