Russian forces continue their advance - Eastern Express - TVP World
In this episode, we take a broader look at the situation on the Ukrainian front. Reports indicate that Russian forces have seized several villages in the Kharkiv region bringing them closer to the city of Kharkiv itself. While Ukrainian forces have managed to hold back Russian troops, there are fears that the conflict could spread to new settlements and eventually endanger Ukraine's second-largest city. The intensification of military operations around Kharkiv comes amid a broader reshuffle within the Russian military command. President Vladimir Putin recently replaced Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu who has held the position since 2012.
