Self Balancing Electric Unicycle

Unicycles have always been a fascinating form of transportation, and more novel than practical, but the Self Balancing Unicycle Version 2.0 looks to change all this.

This one wheeled cycle is equipped with a 1,000 watt motor that allows riders to reach speeds of up to 10 miles per hour. The motor requires 2 hours of charging time, and can travel up to 12 miles on one single charge.

The greatest part about the SBU 2.0 is the ease of learning, promising that virtually anyone can learn to ride this thing in minutes.

You can order the SBU 2.0 over at Focus Designs website for $1499(US)

2. That idiot fell off a Segway? Next you'll tell me he nearly killed himself eating a pretzel.

Man, imagine if a doofus like that ever became President. He'd probably tank the economy and start multiple wars with no plan how to end them. Thank heavens America is too smart to ever allow such a nimnul to run the country.

3. They always show these type of things all by themselves along non-stress routes

Let's see them in bike & car traffic with stoplights, crosswalks, other vehicles, up & down hills and pedestrians.

Believe me, getting to work, school, or store where I live isn't blissfully cruising along by myself with attractive women jogging along side me for a friendly, approving transportation-visit. It's daily battle-competition.

How's it do with repeated stops and starts?

Is there a chance of a basket or carrying capacity?

Every thief in a city of thieves will lust after it. How can it be secured?

Any real Real World experience?

4. Unless you can run 10mph, it's too fast for a unicycle

They should make the motor balance it and let the rider pedal it around. Choose your own safe speed (but don't tell anyone it still balances at 60mph downhill. YeeHAH! Can't do THAT in a Segway.).

The battery would last a lot longer, and as you gradually get better, the battery lasts even longer.
