How high's the water, momma?

Higher than expected, says nbc news.

http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/11/28/15512957-sea-level-rose-60-percent-faster-than-un-projections-study-finds?lite

Projections for sea level rise in coming decades could be too conservative, experts warned Wednesday, saying they found that the rise over the last two decades is much more than predicted by the U.N. scientific body tracking climate signals.

In a peer-reviewed study, the experts said satellite data show sea levels rose by 3.2 millimeters (0.1 inch) a year from 1993 to 2011 — 60 percent faster than the 2 mm annual rise projected by the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for that period

I live inland but near a tidal river. I really don't think I will rebuild at the beach, just hope it does not cost too much for demo.

It's a relatively small island on an inland lake in WI. We don't face many natural catastrophe threats here. Unless there's total social collapse, it's unlikely that I'll have a need for an exit route. In the case there is a total social collapse, I'm not sure I'd want to leave.

Seems every day we hear about another aspect of global warming that's happening faster than predicted. And yet some people still think there's no such thing, or that even if the planet is warming, it's not so bad.

Wouldn't ya know?

We've gotta design an environmental catastrophe that'll morph into wall street somehow. Maybe a swine flu that'll attach itself to skin that's recently been exposed to diamonds and rolexs'. Oh the pain.
