Danny Roderick, who heads Toshiba's energy business, said at an investor briefing Wednesday that the company is in exclusive talks to build reactors in northern Turkey and will likely receive an order for reactors in Florida as well.
Toshiba aims to win contracts for at least 45 units by fiscal 2030.
Toshiba is currently constructing eight reactors in the U.S. and China. It will ink deals for another six in India as early as next year, and expects to receive orders for three in the U.K. Roderick revealed that on top of those orders, Toshiba may build six additional reactors in India, and could find business in Bulgaria and elsewhere.

Coastal flooding isn't much of a threat to any of them. Predicted sea level increases in this century range from a few centimeters to 1.5 meters. The new units are planned for 25-30 feet above sea level. (40-45 feet if the plant they're hinting at here is the soon-to-be-approved Levy County rather than the oft-mentioned Turkey Point expansion).

(33,516 posts)...that lots of inhabitable places go under water because there's no way to store the waste for dangerous fossil fuel plants for eternity.
Seven million people will die this year from air pollution. How many people died this year (or any year) from nuclear plants that went under water?
Maybe there's some fossil fuel supporting anti-nuke gas bag who can enlighten us on this score.
