Getting ready for STEMFest!

First graders explore force, gravity and helium by making hot air balloon prototypes and testing what will make them sink. Letting them float up to the ceiling was more fun to watch!

Lowell’s annual STEMFest hums with energy. Students, teachers, and parents present projects expo-style, and there are interactive stations for all ages. Want to learn how to build a rhombic dodecahedron out of pencils? Blow up a balloon using baking soda and vinegar? See a 3-D printer at work? You can at STEMFest!
